Marine Fire Extinguishers



SOLAS Approved fire extinguishers are needed for many vessels. In accordance with AS 1851 fire extinguishers must be inspected every six months. The types of Marine fire extinguishers approved include dry chemical, foam, carbon dioxide. The equipment on your vessel and your boat’s construction are factors in determining which extinguisher would be most effective. Be sure to discuss your fire extinguisher options with a trained professional to choose the best fire safety devices for your application.

Dry Chemical Powder Fire Extinguishers are suitable for fighting class A,B and E fires. ABE powder extinguishers have a very good fire fighting capacity.
AFFF Foam Class A:B extinguisher. Apply to Class B liquid spills to prevent ignition.
Wet Chemical Fire Extinguishers are the best kitchen fire extinguishers. They have been tested and approved for Class F specifically for kitchen hazards. They contain a potassium acetate based agent.
Carbon Dioxide is discharged as a white cloud of “snow” which smothers a fire by eliminating oxygen. Carbon Dioxide is a clean, non-contaminating, odorless gas.
