HALON 1211 is a liquified gas, pressurized with nitrogen, which discharges as a vapor causing no cold or static shock and no impairment of the operator’s vision.  This agent quickly penetrates difficult to see and hard to reach areas and leaves no residue.  It is recommended for protection of delicate, sensitive and expensive computers, electrical equipment, tapes and film,automotive and aircraft engines, laboratory chemicals and equipment.

UL has CANCELLED the Standard for Halon Fire Extinguishers – UL 1093 – on September 26, 2009.
IN AUSTRALIA It is illegal to own or use halon since 1995, unless for an approved use. This is part of the Montreal Protocol. Any person or company using halon must hold a Halon Special Permit.

Halon can be used in approved situations, including: Commercial and private aviation. Halon is prohibited in accordance with CASR 90.150 for all aircraft manufactured after the December 2018.
